PhD Programmes
Green University offers local Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) programmes in the following disciplines. These programmes comply with local Uzbek requirements and can be pursued either full-time or part-time as an independent researcher.
Disciplines
Ecological Research Institute PhD programmes:
- 03.00.10 – Ecology
- 11.00.05 – Environmental Protection and Rational Use of Natural Resources
Forestry Research Institute PhD programmes:
- 06.03.01 – Forest crops. Breeding, seed production and urban greening. Forest agro-melioration and establishment of protective forests
Hydrometeorological Research Institute PhD programmes:
- 11.00.03 – Land hydrology. Water resources. Specialization in hydrochemistry
- 11.00.04 – Meteorology. Climatology. Agrometeorology specialization
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A Master's degree or an equivalent diploma of higher education (in a relevant specialty).
- Research achievements, including:
- At least one scientific article published in a scientific journal.
- At least two abstracts in scientific conference proceedings in relevant fields, which can serve as a basis for the Ph.D. dissertation.
Required Documents
Full-time applicants
- Statement.
- CV.
- Copy of a master's diploma or an equivalent diploma of higher education.
- Copy of the work book (employee record book), certified in accordance with the established procedure (for working applicants).
- List of published scientific articles and their copies.
- English Proficiency Certificate (B2 or above).
- Holders of the Government Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan must submit a copy of the relevant document.
Independent researcher (part-time)
- Statement.
- CV.
- Copy of a master's diploma or an equivalent diploma of higher education.
- Copy of the work book (employee record book), certified in the prescribed manner.
- List of scientific papers and their copies.
- Recommendation(s) from employer/head/supervisors.
English Proficiency Certificate (B2 or above).
Entrance Exam
- Entrance examinations for Ph.D. are conducted annually from November 5 to 25.
- The results of enrollment are announced by December 5.
- The study period begins in January of the following year.
Application Period
- Full-time Ph.D.: Applications are accepted from October 5 to November 5 of 2026.

Independent Researcher (part-time Ph.D.): Applications are accepted quarterly:
- First intake: October 5 - November 5
- Second intake: January 15 - February 15
- Third intake: April 15 - May 15
- Fourth intake: July 15 - August 15
